Racing across the brilliant blue waters between Saint Martin and Anguilla on a high-performance speedboat tour is the kind of adventure that instantly wakes up every sense. The wind rushed past us as the boat skipped across the Caribbean. Sunlight flashed across the waves like scattered diamonds.
Within minutes, the shoreline of Saint Martin faded behind us. In its place, the pristine white beaches of Anguilla slowly appeared on the horizon. This wasn’t a slow, luxurious sail like a catamaran cruise. Instead, it was faster, more adventurous and every bit as unforgettable.
Island hopping to Anguilla by speedboat gave us the chance to experience some of the most breathtaking beaches in the Caribbean in a single day.
Booking the Anguilla Speedboat Tour
Our Anguilla speedboat tour departed from Simpson Bay Lagoon in Saint Martin, one of the busiest and most beautiful harbors in the Caribbean. From the moment we arrived at the marina, the process was smooth and welcoming. Shortly afterward, we boarded a sleek speedboat designed for island hopping. Right away, the captain and crew set the tone for the day with friendly conversation and a clear passion for the islands they call home.
After a short safety briefing, we boarded a sleek speedboat designed for performance with island hopping in mind. The boat featured a center console design and stretched nearly 50 feet in length. It offered the classic thrill ride feeling while maintaining impressive stability.
The itinerary promised several stops along the coast of Anguilla, all of them prime destinations. Destinations included Rendezvous Bay, Shoal Bay, Meads Bay and the charming area around West End. Each destination offered something unique. From calm turquoise water perfect for swimming to lively beach bars and quiet stretches of powdery white sand.
The Anguilla Speedboat Boat Tour Begins
As soon as the engines roared to life and we pulled away from Simpson Bay Lagoon, the energy of the trip changed completely. The boat surged forward, skipping across gentle swells as the open Caribbean stretched out in front of us. Salt air whipped through our hair while the coastline slowly faded behind us.
Before long, the brilliant white shoreline of Anguilla came into view. Even from a distance, the beaches looked almost unreal, bright sand, clear water and an endless horizon of blue.
Swimming at Rendezvous Bay
Our first stop was Rendezvous Bay, a sweeping stretch of soft white sand and calm water that felt like stepping into a postcard. The water was unbelievably clear and shallow, making it perfect for wading and cooling off after the speedboat ride.
Meanwhile, standing there with the mountains of Saint Martin faintly visible across the water became one of those quiet travel moments that makes you pause. The world felt both enormous and beautifully connected all at once.
Exploring Shoal Bay
Shoal Bay quickly became one of our favorite stops of the entire day. Often considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, it absolutely lives up to its reputation. The sand was bright and powdery beneath our feet, while the water shifted between shades of aqua and deep blue depending on the sunlight.
All around us, families walked along the shoreline while travelers relaxed beneath beach umbrellas. The gentle rhythm of island life slowed everything down. It was the kind of place where you could easily lose track of time.
Boatside Catering — Lunch at Shoal Bay
After spending time swimming in the clear water at Shoal Bay, we climbed back aboard the boat for a relaxed lunch right on deck. The crew had arranged catering from Baguettelle Cupecoy Bakery, and the sandwiches were surprisingly fantastic. Fresh bread, generous portions and simple ingredients somehow tasted even better out on the water.
One sandwich in particular still comes up in conversation today, the crab sandwich. After a morning of sun, salt water and swimming, it tasted absolutely perfect.
As we sat along the edge of the boat with the picturesque surroundings, the atmosphere around Shoal Bay felt effortlessly Caribbean. The shoreline stretched out beside us with bright umbrellas and soft white sand, while gentle waves rolled beneath the boat. Moments like that are part of what makes Anguilla so memorable: beautiful beaches, simple food and the joy of slowing down long enough to enjoy it all.
Meads Bay Relaxation
Our final beach stop was Meads Bay, another stunning stretch of Anguilla coastline known for its crystal-clear water and elegant beachfront resorts. By the time we arrived, the pace of the day had softened into something quieter. Darker clouds drifted overhead and shafts of sunlight broke through in glowing rays, illuminating the water around the boat until it looked almost like glass.
From the surface, you could see straight to the ocean floor nearly fifteen feet below! Soon, what started as simple curiosity turned into discovery, a small object resting in the sand that turned out to be a lost GoPro camera waiting patiently to be found.
Moments later, a school of fish gathered beneath the boat, swirling through the impossibly clear water as crumbs from lunch drifted down toward them.
The calm beauty of Meads Bay felt like the perfect final chapter to a day of island hopping, a place where time slows down, the water becomes a window into another world and the simple act of floating in the Caribbean becomes unforgettable.
Anguilla Speedboat Boat Tour Return to Saint Martin
Eventually, it was time to head back. As the speedboat turned toward Saint Martin once again, the afternoon light softened across the Caribbean, turning the water into a shimmering path behind us. The ride back felt quieter now, the kind of peaceful quiet that comes after a full day of adventure.
Gradually, the beaches of Anguilla faded into the distance while the familiar coastline of Saint Martin slowly returned to view. Salt still clung to our skin, laughter drifted across the boat and everyone seemed content simply replaying the memories of the day.
As we approached Simpson Bay Lagoon, the excitement picked up again when a massive aircraft roared overhead, descending toward the famous runway at Maho Beach. The American Airlines jet passed so low above the water that you could clearly see the windows along the fuselage and the bright flag painted across its tail, a dramatic welcome back to the island after a day spent exploring Anguilla’s quiet shores.

Faith Reflection: Beauty Across the Water
Travel often reminds us how vast and beautiful God’s creation truly is. Crossing open water between islands, watching one shoreline disappear while another appears on the horizon, feels like a quiet metaphor for life itself.
We move forward step by step, trusting the path ahead even when we cannot yet see the destination.
